The Fortress of Deva
The fortress dates from 1269, situated on a volcanic cone, thus becoming a landmark particularly attractive. The King Stephen's letter is the first document that mentions the existence of The Fortress of Deva. The tunnels and catacombs from the basement of the fortress were not explored entirety until today. There is a belief among locals that the largest of them is leading to Castle Corvineştilor. On Castle Hill specialists have discovered Neolithic era and testimony of the bronze age: the Castle terraces confirms the Coţofeni culture, specific to warriors tribes and producers from the bronze age. At the foot of the fortress lies the park that bears its name.
You can climb on foot, through the first gate, or by cable car.
The Visitors who use the cable car are paying only the road price. The fortress has been restored in the year 2016.
